Global Observatory of Livestock and Fisheries

The Global Observatory of Livestock and Fisheries constitutes an institutional mechanism dedicated to analysis, strategic monitoring and sustainable governance of animal and fisheries sectors at the global level. It supports States, institutions, professional organizations, rural and coastal communities, as well as development partners, in the responsible management of animal, aquatic and natural resources.

Its work focuses on food security, sustainable production, ecosystem preservation, biodiversity, climate resilience, value chain traceability, modernization of practices and capacity-building for stakeholders. In line with the 2030 Agenda, the Observatory positions livestock and fisheries as essential drivers of food sovereignty, rural development, blue and green economy, environmental justice and shared prosperity for peoples.
