Global Program for Health Development Support (GPHDS)

The Global Programme for Health Development Support (GPHDS) is the sectoral framework through which the World Association for Development organises its action in favour of the sustainable strengthening of health systems.

The Program supports States and their partners in the implementation of more resilient, inclusive, and effective health policies capable of ensuring better access for populations to essential health services. It operates within a long-term logic grounded in the strengthening of institutional capacities, the improvement of health governance, human resources development, health risk prevention, and the consolidation of coverage and resilience mechanisms within health systems.

The GPHDS promotes a programmatic approach designed to move beyond fragmented interventions and embed health actions within coherent frameworks, aligned with national priorities and international commitments relating to sustainable development and public health. Through this Program, WAD contributes to supporting health systems capable of responding sustainably to the needs of populations, reducing health vulnerabilities, and strengthening human development.
