Global Program for the Promotion of Human Rights and Justice

The Global Program for the Promotion of Human Rights and Justice is the sectoral framework through which the World Association for Development (WAD) structures its action in favour of the rule of law, the protection of fundamental freedoms, and the strengthening of justice systems and democratic governance. The Program supports States and their partners in the consolidation of legal and institutional frameworks promoting equitable access to justice, the protection of fundamental rights, the combating of discrimination, the strengthening of institutional accountability, and the credibility of redress and oversight mechanisms.

The Program intervenes notably in the areas of strengthening judicial and quasi-judicial institutions, access to justice for vulnerable populations, the protection of human rights, the fight against impunity, the development of oversight mechanisms, and the promotion of democratic governance principles and legal equity.

Through this programmatic approach, WAD aims to support trajectories of institutional reform capable of reinforcing trust in institutions, consolidating social cohesion, and promoting societies that are more just, inclusive, peaceful, and resilient, in alignment with international commitments relating to human rights and sustainable development.
