Operational Structures of WAD

The Operational Structures of the World Association for Development (WAD) are the mechanisms responsible for translating WAD’s strategic and programmatic orientations into concrete, coordinated and measurable action. They ensure continuity between the institutional vision, the Global Programs, the specialized institutions and effective action on the ground.

Their role is primarily operational, technical and cross-cutting. They act in support of WAD’s work in a variety of contexts, including crisis situations, health, education, social protection, capacity-building and community-based interventions. They make it possible to avoid the dispersion of initiatives, to improve coordination among actors and to ensure better use of resources.

Through their framed operational autonomy and their mechanisms of governance, monitoring and evaluation, and accountability, the Structures strengthen the quality, coherence and impact of WAD’s interventions. They constitute an essential lever for moving from strategy to action, while ensuring alignment with international standards and the Sustainable Development Goals.
