Global Program for Energy Development Support

The Global Program for Energy Development Support is the programmatic framework through which the World Association for Development (WAD) structures its action in favour of sustainable energy development, energy access, and energy transition. It aims to support States and sector actors in the strengthening of energy systems, the improvement of access to energy services, and the consolidation of energy models that are more resilient, inclusive, and sustainable.

This Program intervenes notably in the areas of energy infrastructure, electrification, renewable energy, energy efficiency, energy governance, and the resilience of energy systems in the face of climate and environmental challenges. Its approach promotes integrated interventions designed to strengthen institutional capacities, improve energy planning, and support sustainable energy transition dynamics.

Aligned with the principal international frameworks relating to sustainable energy, notably Sustainable Development Goal 7 dedicated to affordable and clean energy, the Global Program for Energy Development Support constitutes a strategic framework designed to promote energy systems that are more accessible, high-performing, and compatible with the objectives of sustainable development and climate transition.
