Global Program for Private Sector Development Support
The Global Program for Private Sector Development Support is the programmatic framework through which the World Association for Development (WAD) structures its action in favour of entrepreneurship, economic competitiveness, productive investment, and the strengthening of business ecosystems. It aims to support States and economic actors in the development of a more dynamic, inclusive, innovative, and employment-generating private sector.
This Program intervenes notably in the areas of improving the business environment, SME development, access to finance, economic formalisation, innovation, digital transformation, and integration into value chains. Its approach promotes the strengthening of institutional capacities, support for entrepreneurial initiatives, and the consolidation of mechanisms conducive to sustainable and resilient economic growth.
Aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals, in particular SDG 8 on decent work and economic growth and SDG 9 on industry, innovation, and infrastructure, the Global Program for Private Sector Development Support constitutes a structuring framework designed to reinforce the contribution of the private sector to productive transformation, job creation, and the economic development of territories.
